Discourse meetings are the main professional development initiative of PEER and feature a speaker, PEER staff member, PEER mentor and/or facilitator presenting a career-related or personal development topic. PEER Scholars attending are given guidance and instruction in topics such as:
- science communication (written and oral)
- time management
- developing approaches to research
- grant writing
Discourse meetings happen on Thursdays from 3:40-5:00 pm in various locations as noted on schedule. First and second year students will attend the same session unless otherwise noted on schedule.
