Individual Development Plans (IDP’s)

Since it’s beginning, PEER has embraced the Individual Development Plan as critically important to the doctoral study experience, because it requires students to explicitly outline their goals and objectives for completing their degree and beyond.  Additionally, Individual Development Plans assist both mentors and mentees with developing a formal structure to the mentoring process and provide a structure for the identification and achievement of career goals.

These plans are initially developed over the course of the first year in the PEER program and evolve as students are exposed to more opportunities, challenges, events and intricacies of doctoral study. To understand more about IDP’s see the graphic below and click here.
